This beautiful park is located just 20 miles south of Reno in the Washoe Valley. The area includes over 200 acres of pine and sage desert, nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. During the summer, this is a popular camping area for families as it as a small fishing pond and plenty of activities such as volleyball and horse shoes. The Ophir trail is the only trail that is accessible to equestrians and trailer parking is located at the trailhead. The park is still open in winter for snowshoeing and cross country skiing activities.
