The main Egan Crest Trail System provides recreationists with over 25 miles of trails. You will experience a variety of terrain from rolling sagebrush flats to pinyon and juniper forests the higher in elevation you go. As you cruise along the ridge of the main Egan Crest trail you will get beautiful views of the Ruth Copper Pit and the valley below. Some of the trails are not as well maintained as others but are well signed with the difficulty, loop name and use. The trails consist of single-track and signed two-track roads and are open to hiking, mountain biking, equestrian, motorcycles, and ATVs.
When you are done riding the Egan Crest trails, there is a whole network of connecting trails north of the Garnet Hill recreation Area and directly east of the Egan Crest trails. These trails are well maintained, feature beautiful views of the Schell Mountain range and has dispersed camping sites throughout. This whole area has enough fun and trails for several days and are easy enough for people of all skill levels!
The trailhead features picnic tables and shade structures There is no potable water or restrooms. The Garnet Hill Recreation area features restrooms, campsites and non-motorized trail access.
Some double track trails suddenly end and turn into single track trails. Use caution while driving.
