The Boca to Floriston segment of the Truckee River is a Class 2-3+ run, with several rapids and beautiful scenery. The Junkyard Rapid and Railroad Rapids are both Class 3, and challenging during high flows.
Truckee's flow is highly regulated, with most river flow fully allocated through a system of water rights, set by the Truckee River Operating Agreement. Water levels on the Truckee River widely vary by season and the river is navigable depending on the flow rates and your experience level. Make sure to assess water levels before your trip.

Put-out access and parking are on Stampede Meadows Rd. on the north side of the river. Take the Hirshdale Exit #194 off of Interstate 80.
Take-out is before the I-80 bridge in Floriston.
