Due to flooding, portions of the trail near the river has been washed out. Please proceed with caution.
This trail network intertwines the Carson River Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Ambrose Carson River Natural Area, Silver Saddle Ranch and Prison Hill trails together. This area is open to all non-motorized activity types and provides the perfect place for a casual walk or a trail running destination. Walk along the beautiful Carson River, teaming with beautiful cotton wood trees and through historic ranches still full of cattle and horses. The trail surface on the west side of the river is compacted sand and is very well maintained and signed.
Plenty of wildlife call the Carson River home. Keep your eye out for Magpies, Beavers, Coyotes and Hawks!
The Ambrose nature trails are less popular and cater mostly to equestrians and hikers. They are located directly along the east shore of the Carson River and the trail surface is mostly sandy. During high precipitation years, these trails may become washed out and impassible.
