The Grimes Pont and Hidden Cave Archaeological Site is easily accessed from Highway 50, east of Fallon. The site is well-improved, with a paved parking lot, informational kiosk, restrooms and several shaded picnic tables.
The trails are easy to moderate, with interpretive signs along the way. The quarter-mile long Petroglyph Trail is a short in-out loop, with many beautiful examples of Native American rock art. For a longer, more difficult hike, take the Overlook Trail for about .6 miles to a beautiful view of the valley below.
The Hidden Cave is closed to the general public, but free guided tours are available through the Churchill County Museum. See contact information below.
