The small town of Jarbidge is in a vast and rural area in the Northeastern corner of the state near the border of Idaho. The area is rich in natural and human history, and is popular with snowmobile users, OHV enthusiasts, hunters, sightseers, rock hounds, campers, and many others. Imposing mountain ranges and sweeping basins create impressive views, while reservoirs and seasonal creeks create small oases in the rolling sagebrush steppe. Major peaks and attractions in this area include; Marys River Peak, Jarbridge Peak, Wheeler Mountain, the Independence Range, and Wild Horse State Recreation Area. Given the remote location of this area, your chances of running to other people out on the trails is very rare. Always be prepared for any emergency you may encounter!

Given that portions of the Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest are designated wilderness, only hikers and equestrians are allowed within the wilderness boundary. Motorized and mechanized use is only permitted on surrounding non-wilderness trails. Please be respectful of the wilderness boundary and only travel on designated roads and trails for your activity type. Horses are allowed and only certified weed free hay can be brought in. Currently, USDA Forest Service policy considers E-Bikes to be motorized vehicles, and therefore, are restricted to roads and trails designated for motorized use.
Hunting and fishing is allowed in certain areas. Refer to the Nevada Department of Wildlife website for more information.
