Several pond's and lakes make up the Mason Valley Wilderness Management area; Hinkson Slough, North Pond, Bass Pond, Beaver Slough, Crappie Pond and Walker River. Fishing season is open from the second Saturday in February through September 30th. Currently the ponds are stocked with Trout, Bass and Catfish.
The North Pond has an improved boat ramp, camp sites and paved parking. Bass Pond and Hinkson Slough have a padded and gravel boat ramp. Pond depth ranges from less than 5 to 8 feet deep or 13 feet deep at the North pond. Although there are boat ramps at North Pond, Bass Pond and Hinkson Slough, be sure to check water depth before launching as it may be more shallow than expected.
