Located in the beautiful north east Lincoln County, this nationally designated scenic byway will have you winding in and around the Wilson Creek mountain range. The trail begins and ends along US Highway 93; from Pioche at the Southern end, to the Pony Springs rest area at the northern terminus of the byway route. Staging is allowed at the Pony Springs rest area and the trail directly across the highway. Parking and a trailhead are also located just south of SR 322 as you are heading east from Pioche.
Most of the roads are native dirt roads, and passable by full sized 4xd high-clearance vehicles. A short portion of the route is paved, between Pioche and Spring Valley State Park. To drive this as a full loop, you will have to complete the route on the state highway. Always exercise caution when traveling backcountry roads after a storm as roads may become rutted and dangerous.
Signage is very scare along the byway, be sure to have a paper map or offline navigation map to help guide your adventure!
Licensed, street legal vehicles only on all highways and paved roads.
Camping and several hiking trails are available at Spring Valley State Park.
Dispersed camping is allowed on BLM land. Be sure to stay up to date on current camping regulations and guidelines.
Lodging and services are located in Pioche. Be sure to check out some of their local shops and historical sites!
