Description

In 2014, Congress officially created the Nellis Dunes Off-Highway Vehicle area, north of Las Vegas in Clark County. The area covers 10,035 total acres, with over 900 acres allocated to Clark County for the OHV Park. The area is used for competitive race events, training, and has an extensive OHV play area. As a guide for your adventure, check out the PDF map of the area (available in the Data Download section) to see some recommended OHV routes through the open area.

Riders should use extra caution due to number of riders that may be present, especially during the weekends. Trails are a mix of hard pack, loose dirt and sand, with rolling hills and some sand dunes. There are no facilities, amenities or campsites available within the dunes recreation area. This area is managed as an open OHV area and is a no camping and no shooting area. Please be mindful of these rules.

Other Information

All OHV’s must be registered. RIDE SAFE AND SMART. Follow Tread Lightly principles for responsible recreation by leaving no trace, disposing of waste properly, leaving what you find, and respecting wild life. Always plan ahead and prepare for uncertainty. Travel with warm clothing, first aid, food, water and appropriate tools to fix a problem. Traveling in groups is always a good idea, as well as informing someone of where you will be going.
