Description

This beautiful trail is located at the southern end of Reno on the urban edge in the Galena Forest. This trail can be used by mountain bikers, hikers and equestrians. During the winter months, this trail become a great place to snowshoe or cross-country ski! For those on horses and bikes, be aware that there are tow bridge crossings over the creek.

The trail has a moderate incline for the first mile and then drops down into the canyon where you will approach the Brown's creek. Before you drop into the canyon, there is a spur trail that takes you to a vista point. There is an informational sign and bench accompanied by great views of the Washoe Valley.

Water typically flows year round in the Brown's Creek and is surrounded by beautiful aspens and cottonwood trees, making it a great trail to come back and visit in the fall when the colors on the trees are changing. Due to the dense vegetation, this area is great for all types of wildlife viewing, especially birds.
