The Galena Creek Trail officially starts at the back of the Phillip & Annie Callahan Park. As you walk along the trail, the area around you begins to transform into a beautiful and lush riparian woodland. This trail follows the Galena creek, which is situated just below the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. During the summer months, the towering trees provide the perfect amount of shade for a morning or afternoon stroll. During the fall, this becomes the most picturesque area as all the leaves begin to change color.
The trail can be easily connected to the Galena Creek Regional Park, located just west of Mt. Rose Highway.
This trail passes through some private property. Please keep your dogs on leash for the entirety of the trail.
